Tyreek Hill’s $6.9 million house fire was caused by a child’s innocent play with matches and lighters

On January 4, 2024, tragedy struck the South Florida mansion of Miami Dolphins wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, as a fire broke out.

Swift response from firefighters before 2 PM ET ensured the safety of Hill’s family members who managed to escape unharmed.

WSVN’s aerial broadcast captured the scene, showing smoke emerging through a sizable hole in their roof.

The cause was attributed to a child innocently playing with a lighter in a bedroom, characterized by Davie Fire Rescue as an “unintentional, accidental” incident involving matches or a lighter.

Fortunately, the fire was contained to a single room, as stated by Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, who noted Hill’s composed response in the face of such adversity.

“It is very difficult for anybody, obviously, to have your home catch on fire, but Hill was handling it with as much poise as you can hope,” Rosenhaus said.

The extent of damage raises uncertainties about the family’s stay during repairs, considering potential water damage from firefighting efforts.

Tyreek Hill, who purchased the mansion for $6.9 million in 2022, left practice upon learning about the fire.

The Miami Dolphins hold their practices at the Baptist Health Training Complex, which is situated approximately 12 miles away from Tyreek Hill’s home.

Next, Hills arrived home around 3 PM EST. Joined by his wife was Keeta Vaccaro, and two children.

FYI, Tyreek Hill is the father of three children from his prior relationship with his fiancée, Crystal Espinal.

However, the specific kid responsible for playing with matches and causing the fire remains unclear.
