Updated Odds (12/16): Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets, Injury Reports

After taking a tough loss in Sacramento on Thursday, the Oklahoma City Thunder looks to bounce back as they travel to take on the defending champions in the Denver Nuggets.

Playing in Denver is a difficult environment for anyone. For example, the Nuggets are 10-1 in home games despite a 17-9 record on the season.

The altitude mixed with playing against the defending champions with their home crowd behind them makes it a tough trip to make. The Thunder even struggled against the Nuggets in their first matchup together, which came in Oklahoma City. This game could be crucial for the Thunder and will be a tough matchup all things considered.

INJURY REPORT:

Thunder: Keyontae Johnson, OUT (G League)

Nuggets: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, OUT (Concussion) Vlatko Canacar, OUT (Knee) Aaron Gordon, Probable (Heel) Jay Huff, OUT (G League) Jamal Murray, Probable (Ankle) Jalen Pickett, OUT (G League) Hunter Tyson, OUT (G League)

It seems as if these two teams will be facing off against each other at mostly full strength. As the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in the Western Conference — with the Nuggets narrowly leading the Thunder in the standings — this game could be quite a fun one if the Thunder is able to keep things close.

UPDATED ODDS:

In the two teams’ first battle, the Nuggets gave the Thunder its most embarrassing loss of the season. The Nuggets are a tough team for the Thunder to face, and it shows in the spread as the Nuggets are a 4.5-point favorite.

Given the first result, and the Nuggets being a juggernaut on their home floor, things aren’t looking so good for the Thunder. With it being a crucial game standings-wise, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of fight they put up.

For the Thunder, a signature win like this could help solidify them as a team early in this season, as they’ve proven to be one of the better teams in the Western Conference early on. Want to join the discussion?
