NBA Tracker: Warriors Announce Roster Move After Loss to Spurs and Magic Trade Interest in Warriors’ Klay Thompson Confirmed with a Mouth-Watering Offer…

Following their disappointing loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors announced that Gui Santos had been sent back down to the Santa Cruz Warriors. In their announcement, the Warriors wrote the following:

“The Golden State Warriors have assigned forward Gui Santos to the team’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, it was announced today. Santos is expected to play in Santa Cruz’s game tomorrow afternoon versus the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at Chase Center (12:30 p.m. PDT tipoff). In 24 NBA G League games with Santa Cruz this season, Santos is averaging 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27.9 minutes per game. He has appeared in 17 games with Golden State, averaging 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game.”

The Santa Cruz Warriors are of course Golden State’s G-League affiliate, and they have seen Santos several times now. As the Warriors stated in their announcement, Santos has played in 24 G-League games this season. Having appeared in just 16 games at the NBA level, Santos has spent more time on the court in Santa Cruz than Golden State this season.

While Santos has been up and down from the G-League to the NBA, he is someone the Warriors like, and he will likely get more opportunities with the big club this season.
