Week 15 Packers Injury Report: Who Is Likely to Play?

Two offensive weapons for the Green Bay Packers aren’t on track to play in Week 15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Packers have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks.

The Packers were without Christian Watson and Aaron Jones during their loss to the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Jones has been practicing this week. However, he practiced last week and was inactive Monday night.

Two offensive weapons miss Green Bay Packers practice Thursday

But the Packers don’t have good news for Watson or running back AJ Dillon. Dillon and Watson did not practice Wednesday. According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, Dillon and Watson did not practice Thursday.

Missing Thursday’s practice is not a good sign for their availability against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Dillon would have to come back on a short week from his injury on Monday night. Watson’s hamstring appears to be serious at this point, and he could be out for a while.

Green Bay Packers Fans Have Strong Reactions, Blame Joe Barry After Tommy DeVito Named Week 14 NFC Player of the Week

The Green Bay Packers fell to 6-7 on the season following their 24-22 loss to the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Unlike many of their losses this season, this one was a complete failure by all three facets of their team. Jordan Love and the offense looked disjointed and sloppy for the majority of the game. The only time everything seemed to click for them was on their final drive when Love marched the team down the field and threw a touchdown pass to Malik Heath to give them the lead with less than two minutes remaining.

Special teams, too, was a debacle. Anders Carlson missed a field goal and Keisean Nixon fumbled a punt return, giving the Giants excellent field position. New York scored a touchdown with that short field. Additionally, special teams penalties plagued the team all night, giving the Giants favorable field position.

And, of course, the defense, led by defensive coordinator Joe Barry, did everything they could to make Giants undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito look like prime Michael Vick. For the fourth time this season, Green Bay gave up over 200 yards rushing, and their “prevent” defense on the final drive completely failed to keep New York out of field goal range.

New York Giants Quarterback Tommy DeVito Wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week for His Performance vs the Green Bay Packers

Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito finished the game with 17/21 passes completed for 158 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the ball 10 times for 71 yards. The Packers’ defense, fresh off of dominating Chiefs’ quarterback and two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, had no answer for the elusive rookie.

For DeVito’s efforts, he was awarded the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson received the honor in the AFC.

Green Bay Packers Fans Brutally Blame Joe Barry For Being Unable to Contain Tommy DeVito

There was no secret to the Giants’ game plan. Everyone knew what they were going to do on offense. However, Barry either refused to call the proper plays to stop it or did not know how to stop it. The result was an embarrassing effort from the Packers’ defense. The Giants entered the game with one of the worst offensive lines in football, yet Green Bay registered no sacks.

As mentioned, the defense gave up over 200 yards on the ground for the fourth time this season. Green Bay is 0-4 in these games. No other team has allowed 200 yards rushing more than once this season.

This is, of course, what fans have come to expect from Barry’s defensive scheme, and the fact that DeVito won NFC Offensive Player of the Week furthered their frustration with the embattled defensive coordinator:

Despite being 6-7, the Packers still have a hold on the seventh and final spot in the NFC Playoffs. They essentially control their own destiny. If they win their remaining four games, they will be in.

Regardless of whether or not that happens, though, it may be time for the Barry Era in Green Bay to come to an end.
