The man of the moment in MLB wants to surpass Ohtani with his mega contract

Juan Soto became the most sought-after free agent in Major League Baseball, but everything points to him staying in New York, although not necessarily with the Yankees. The Mets are willing to open their wallets no matter what it costs them, and that is why the Dominican’s agent will meet in the coming days with Steve Cohen, owner of the Mets.

Scott Boras and Steve Cohen to meet to discuss Juan Soto

According to reports from the Daily Mail and ESPNSteve Cohen will meet with Scott BorasJuan Soto’s agent, in the coming week to discuss the possible transfer of the Dominican player to the Mets, and according to leaks, the team is willing to pay $600 million.

The Venezuelan believes that at the moment the Mets have more economic power available to sign players. He even ventured to predict that he will be a Mets player for the 2025 season.

“I’m going to say something. The Yankees team has 1.5 billion. While the Mets have 27.5 billion. For me he stays in New York, but with the Mets. The Yankees are going to be in the bidding, but the Mets are going to give him the $600 million. The Yankees said they don’t want to break their savings bank,” said ESPN’s Luis Alfredo Alvarez.

According to reports, the baseball player hit 41 home runs in the just-concluded season and could reach a contract of up to $700 million over 10 years. After the World Series loss to the DodgersSoto said, “I’ll be available to all 30 teams” and “I don’t want to say anybody has the upper hand”.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said his club wants to retain Soto, saying New York is willing to meet with him as often as he wants.

Mets predicted to land $8 million Brewers superstar in offseason stunner

Juan Soto is debating between the Mets and the Yankees.

The New York Mets could make some serious noise in 2025.

New York surprised the baseball world and had 89 wins despite low expectations heading into the campaign. The Mets made a deep playoff run despite not earning a postseason spot until the final day of the regular season. New York pushed the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series but couldn’t make it past the eventual World Series champions.

Now, the Mets certainly are going to add to the organization. One player who was floated as a surprising trade candidate is Milwaukee Brewers star Devin Williams by Newsweek’s Zach Pressnell.

“The New York Mets already have a closer, but it wouldn’t hurt to add more bullpen talent,” Pressnell said. “In fact, adding Williams would give the Mets the best one-two bullpen punch across the entire league.

“New York is going to be incredibly aggressive in free agency this winter. There’s no reason that the front office wouldn’t explore a trade for one of the best closers in baseball. It’s the kind of move that could save Steve Cohen some serious money in free agency.”

A trade for Williams would be a shock because of the fact that the club already has Edwin Diaz. While this is the case, the two superstars forming a duo is a fun thought. New York would have two of the best relievers in all of baseball and therefore shorten games in the process.

New York would have to give up a lot prospect-wise for Williams, but his contract isn’t large. Why not give Milwaukee a call?
