76ers Trade : Would the Sixers make a Deal with ‘A Lot’ of Teams Keeping Tabs on Tobias Harris?
The Philadelphia 76ers have never showed interest in trading Tobias Harris during his time with the franchise. Despite this, the veteran forward is still attracting interest as the trade deadline approaches.
Several weeks ago, reports circulated that the Detroit Pistons were interested in trade for Harris. They may not be the only team, according to recent developments. NBA analyst Shams Charania suggested on FanDuel TV that a few teams are interested in Harris.
“Tobias Harris, he’s a guy on the expiring year of his deal, 39 million dollars this season, and he’s been the one-two punch at different points,” Shams went on to say. “A lot of teams are keeping an eye on him and waiting to see what happens to him.” “The Sixers want to keep him.”
During the 2018-19 season, the Sixers acquired Harris via trade. He has since become one of the franchise’s mainstays. He is well-liked in the locker room and has served as a leader for this squad both on and off the court.
Harris had a hot start to the season, but he has cooled off in recent weeks. Nonetheless, as the team’s third option, he continues to put up excellent numbers. He has averaged 16.0 PPG, 6.0 RPG, and 2.7 APG in 27 games. His three-point percentage has dropped slightly, connecting on only 34.2% of his attempts.
Because he’s on an expiring contract, it’s worth doing some research to see what a man like Harris is worth in the market. However, the team should not be in a rush to move on from him.
A Harris trade should take place only if it obviously improves their prospects of competing for a title. Aside from that, relocating such an important member of the locker room in the middle of the season is a bad idea.
